Playa Bowls, the Garden State's Original Acai Shop, makes its grand debut in Hoboken. With the temperature rising for the spring as well as the upcoming summer season, Playa Bowls is the perfect addition to the Mile Square's list of eateries."While Hoboken was always on our radar, we wanted to be able to give the Mile Square city the Playa experience it deserved," said Managing Partner, Lizz Pagan. "The former Hansel and Griddle location on the corner of Hudson and First Street did just that."Playa Bowls was founded by Jersey Shore natives Rob Giuliani and Abby Taylor who happen to be skilled surfers. Giuliani and Taylor have visited Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, California, Hawaii, Nicaragua, and Panama to catch waves as well as some summer fun. When visiting these destinations, they would have an Acai or Pitaya bowl after a long day of surf since it was a light meal packed with nutrients that provide you with a natural energy boost. Once Giuliani and Taylor returned to New Jersey, they figured they should share their love and passion for Acai with the Jersey Shore community and the rest of the state. As a result, they got the ball rolling by creating some of their favorite concoctions for family members to opening up a pop-up stand on 8th Avenue in Belmar and the rest is history.Although Hoboken is not a shore town, Playa Bowls wants to give the community a taste of the surf culture as well as a hip shore vibe."Playa Bowls is not just bringing Acai bowls," noted Pagan. " We always bring the shore vibes and surf culture to every single location which you can't escape."Playa Bowls will open the doors to the public on April 28."We have a bunch of free giveaways including a four day all inclusive airfare trip to Costa Rica for one lucky winner and a guest to stay with our friends at Surf Costa," said Pagan. "All you have to do to enter is follow us on @playabowlshoboken and click the link on the bio and of course come by for the opening day."Lizzmonade and Playa Poke bowls will be available at Playa Bowls Hoboken as they are staples at other Playa Bowl locations. Playa Bowls Hoboken is also seeking for the best Playa Peeps to join their squad, stated Pagan. Currently, the locale is opened from 8 am to 10 pm, however, once the summer temperatures hit, the hours will be extended.Playa Bowls Hoboken is located at 100 Hudson Street.
